ABOUT ME

If you really want to do something you’ll find a way.

If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.

I am a keynote speaker, leadership development associate, expedition leader and outdoor instructor. My story challenges what strength, resilience and courage really look like.

After over a decade in corporate life, and once a self-confessed comfort-lover, height-hater and serial “no-sayer”, I transformed my life in my late 30s by learning to say yes a little more often. That shift took me from a risk-averse corporate career to the highest mountains on Earth, including summiting Mount Everest and completing the Seven Summits, the highest peak on every continent.

Everest, however, is only one, all be it significant chapter. In 2015, while at camp 1 on the mountain, I survived Nepal’s devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake. That experience reshaped my understanding of leadership, resilience and fear; not as heroic, one-off moments, but as skills built quietly through small, consistent steps.

Today, I combine my experiences in extreme environments, from oxygen-deprived Himalayan peaks to the remoteness of Antarctica, with my former business background to deliver impactful talks and leadership programmes for organisations, schools and at conferences. My work focuses on reframing fear, embracing uncertainty, building resilience in higher performing teams, and leading with empathy when the stakes are high.

I am also the creator and expedition leader behind More Than A Mountain, a documentary film honouring Junko Tabei, the first woman to summit Everest. The film follows myself and my team of 14 women aged 29–71 as we climb Yala Peak in Nepal, shining a light on women hidden in history and redefining who gets to be seen as bold and brave.

A passionate advocate for paying opportunity forward, I have raised over £45,000 for children’s mental health charity Place2Be through my challenges and expeditions.

Whilst I am not enjoying one of my leadership roles in my portfolio career, I can be found at home studying for a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree with the Open University, training for a marathon or middle distance triathlon or walking my dog Monty.
