1000 word Wednesday – Embracing change

I had planned to write a blog called ‘Learning to lean into life’ and fit it into this 1000 words Wednesday slot but it is a larger write and read than this particular thread allows. I also didn’t want to bleat on about adversity breeding opportunity and how, although unfortunate to have all of my work cancelled for the foreseeable, I am in the fortunate position to still be able to work having found temporary employment with Tesco. I live on my own and my 2 fabulous dogs have gone to Mum’s not only to keep her company but also to enable me to do a regular 9 hour day without coming home to a very empty house.

This blog was supposed to be much more about my life in general and how I have gone from thinking that my time on this planet would be all about horses, a husband, children and the outdoors to veering off piste in my early 20s via retail, newspapers, electronics and Business Advice before finally settling back in the outdoors, all be it in a more lofty way in the mountains. Life, but not as I was supposed to know it.

I was going to write about Negative Nelly telling me that life should not have turned out this way but Positive Polly loudly pitched in to say that life is way better than I could ever have imagined, it’s just a little bit different. Change, for me, has been turbulently good.

To this point I have written a mere 253 words of my available 1000, however I will stop writing now as this week I’d like you to listen to something instead.

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Dave Cornthwaite last Saturday for his Self Propelled podcast. We laughed, we reminisced, we talked of future projects and past challenges and all of my thoughts about embracing change are in that 38 minutes of natter online.

As a many of us have a little more time on our hands over the coming months I urge you to do some listening to Dave's podcast as he has a epic line up. Who knows which light bulb it may turn on in your head or in which direction it may take you once we are finally allowed out again. Adversity most certainly can bring opportunities which are usually dressed up in many different guises.

The podcast is hosted on these platforms:
